President Ebrahim Raisi, the country’s foreign minister and others have been found dead at the site of a helicopter crash in Iran’s northwest. Helicopter carrying President Raisi and his foreign minister crashed on Sunday as it was crossing mountain terrain in heavy fog.
A Helicopter carrying Ebrahim Raisi, the President of Iran, the country’s foreign minister and other officials crashed in the hill areas of northwest of Iran on Sunday. Raisi was inaugurating a dam with Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev at the border with Azerbaijan. The cause of the crash is yet unknown. All passengers were found dead at the site of the helicopter crash Monday. There have been years of mass protests against Shiite theocracy of Iran over its poor economy and women’s rights.
